It was here that he opened himself to modernity, formed his closest friendships, and built his artistic identity before making the decisive move to Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PROGRAM:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wednesday, 6 May, 18 h<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pablo Picasso portrait<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first session of this course offers a journey through the key moments of Picasso\u2019s life and the most significant stages of his artistic career. With the aim of drawing a complete portrait of the artist, we will examine his iconography, the themes he explored, and his remarkable technical versatility, as well as his interests and ideology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wedsnesday, 13 May, 18 h<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Picasso in Catalunya&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Picasso lived in Catalonia during a decisive period of his personal and artistic formation: he arrived in 1895 at just 14 years old and left definitively for Paris in 1904, at the age of 23. From then on, he returned frequently to visit family and friends. Until his final exile, Catalonia remained the setting for experiences that deeply shaped both his personality and his artistic career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wednesday, 20 and 27 May<\/strong><br><strong>Two activities will be combined<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Guided visit to the Picasso Museum Collection<\/strong><br><em>Led by the Public Programs team of the Museum<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Picasso Museum of Barcelona is the key reference centre for understanding Pablo Picasso\u2019s formative years. Its Collection, comprising more than 5,000 works, is an exceptional assembly of pieces created in M\u00e1laga, A Coru\u00f1a, Barcelona, Madrid, and Horta de Sant Joan. It bears witness both to the artist\u2019s solid academic training and to his strong artistic personality and emerging creative freedom. In addition, the Collection includes the complete series of&nbsp;<em>Las Meninas<\/em>, where he created his personal interpretation of Vel\u00e1zquez\u2019s homonymous painting, a remarkable collection of graphic works, and the group of 41 ceramics donated by Jacqueline Picasso in 1982.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Itinerary through Picasso\u2019s Barcelona<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Barcelona that Picasso knew during his adolescence and early youth is still alive today in the corners and narrow streets, caf\u00e9s, and squares where he walked, lived, and learned to see. The personal relationships Picasso developed during his time there\u2014family, friends, teachers, artists\u2014will be the starting point of an itinerary led by an expert guide that will take us to discover Picasso\u2019s Barcelona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Led by<\/strong>Anna Pou van den Bossche is an independent curator and artistic director of the IDEAL Digital Arts Centre in Barcelona. She is a lecturer at the University of Barcelona, the International University of Catalonia, and Escola Massana. She has published monographs on Picasso, Goya, and Dal\u00ed, among other artists.
